Week Four: Traditional Marketing Campaign
For this assignment, you will choose one of the below traditional marketing options below and complete a “mock-up” of the option. You are encouraged to design your traditional marketing materials in a way that they will support your ability to generate patients for your practice in the student clinic. If you choose to create materials that can be used now for student clinic, please be sure that you have reviewed the Natural Care Clinic’s “Acceptable Student Marketing and AdvertisementPreview the document” guidelines on pages 17 and 18 of the NCC Student Handbook.
Print Materials: If you choose this option, you must submit a proof of all of the following. You may design this using software on your computer or a website (may screenshot your items). Please submit your print materials in .pdf or .jpg format: a business card, a brochure, and a flyer or postcard you would post on a local community bulletin board.
Article and Ad: For this option, assuming you have booked ad space in Your Health Magazine for the October edition (National Acupuncture Day). Design a small ad using your computer software (or you may sketch out a hand-drawn ad) and write an article no longer than 400 words that fit this issue’s theme of National Acupuncture Day.
Community Lecture: For this option, assuming you have been selected to give a lecture at the local community center to potential patients. Create a PowerPoint lecture of no less than five minutes on any topic that you would like. You may record your lecture directly onto the PowerPoint slides or you may submit a “script” in document form to accompany your PowerPoint slides.
Networking Group: Write a one-page paper about networking groups that you would consider joining. You may research potential networking groups local to MUIH or local to the area you plan to practice once you graduate. You must research at least two networking groups that exist in this area, and write about how each one works. You should include the name and meeting location of the group. How often does it meet and when? How much does it cost to join? Are there ongoing costs associated with being a member? How does the networking aspect of the event work? Who is the target of the networking activities? Who are some of the other members of this group? From your research, what are the pros and cons of joining this group? Given your research, would you consider joining either of the groups?
Allied Health Referral Building: For this choice, you will assume you are attempting to build a referral relationship with another local health provider. Research a real provider or group practice that you would like to build a referral relationship with either in the local area to MUIH or in the local area where you plan to practice once you graduate. Write a one-page, professional letter (i.e. you should have the proper headers for a letter) introducing yourself and making a pitch for why you think that this provider would benefit from a mutual referral relationship. Include with your letter either a business card or a brochure you have designed for your practice.
