DISCUSSION 1 (KERRI) Define transformational leadership.

This is a leadership style that causes change in individuals. Ideally, it creates positive changes in the hopes that the followers will develop into leaders (Pandey, 2022).

Describe the importance of emotional intelligence in leadership roles.

It is certainly thought that a manager develops an attachment to the people they lead. Emotional intelligence is important in that there needs to be the ability to regulate emotions during social exchanges. Emotional intelligence is the core of effective leaders in that it provides the platform for positive relationship building in the business arena (Waglay, 2020). To be an effective leader, one needs to be fair, sincere and transparent with a good grasp on emotional intelligence to know when and how to speak up with their direct reports.

Explore the methods transformational leaders use to create collaborative and communicative teams.

There are numerous techniques that can be used by leaders to create collaborative and communicative teams. Providing an inviting atmosphere for each person to join and learn and grow as a team is one. Instilling inspiration and setting goals is another way that may bring out a little competitiveness that can us collaboration to fully develop. Transparency with teams as much as possible which promotes trust and trust is the founding of any good relationship.

Identify solutions to combat employee burnout and turnover rates.

There are many ways to combat employee burnout and turnover, I would say the first thing is to listen to your employees. If there is a problem circulating that has not been addressed, make it a priority. Celebrate your employees, make them feel important and let them know often how much you appreciate their hard work. Give ample opportunities for paid time off. We all need time to rest and recharge to come back to work feeling refreshed and renewed. Have options for mental and physical health such as a relaxation app free to download or a gym or reduced or free rates to a local gym for employees. The more you put into creating happy employees, the more you will get back.
