3.) A performance appraisal needs to find the strengths of the employee along with any areas that need improvement. Usually the areas of improvements are a tough message for some managers to deliver and therefore many times these issues are not addressed. The downside to this is that the employee more than likely will continue the poor performance and may or may not even realize they need to improve. This can cause an employee morale issue as the other employees see this as unfair and that this employee is “getting away” with not doing their share of the work.
